We have 6 teams competing this year. The league will run up to late August, leaving a break before the Bradford League starts again in September.
All-play-all 3 times
Because of the great disparity between playing abilites in the summer league, matches are played like the team knockout competitions:-
- Each individual match is four games up to 11 points, with no deuces.
- Players are handicapped (see the above link, and handicaps are on the noticeboards in the first and middle rooms).
- All play all as normal. No doubles match.
- The match is won by the team that scores the highest total of points (not games or sets).
- The winning team get 2 points. For a drawn match, each teams gets 1 point. No points are scored for individual matches.
Substitutes can play above or below their own teams, as the handicaps balance it out.
Should more than one team top the league at the end of the season, the winning team will be decided as follows:-
2 teams tying
The two teams will play a play-off match to decide the winner.
More than 2 teams tying
The winner will be decided according to the results between the tying teams. If that doesn't provide an outright winner, then the cumulative points differences between the tying teams, in the matches in which they played each other, will decide it. And if that fails to do it, then we'll postpone the Bradford League until January and redo the Summer League from the beginning :)
Please leave the match cards in the box in the first room. The results will appear here soon afterwards.
